I have always been drawn to figurative subjects and many of my oil paintings are inspired by my travels. I try and capture people going about their daily lives using the light, gestures, expressions, and body language. I imagine their story and through the painting I hope to convey a little bit of that to the viewer. I enjoy the process and hearing the stories others imagine when viewing my paintings.
I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Fine Art Degree. I have been in the Southern California area since the late eighties and currently reside in San Juan Capistrano, CA.
Early in my career I worked as a textile artist, but took some time off to raise my daughters. With the girls grown I’m now back focusing on my paintings and have been studying with local artist Cynthia Grilli. I am a member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society and Oil Painters of America.
