Honey Come Home

Elizabeth Wallace
10 x 8.5 x 0.01 in., pastel on paper

I was out at O'Neill Park in Trabuco Canyon one spring morning and noticed a frenzy of honey bees gathering pollen on Matilija Poppies.  I painted this pastel in the studio and was attracted to how the three bees were converging on the blossom.  I especially loved the little bee on the left of the image--he reminds me of a teddy bear.
